Title: Manufacturing Engineer, Mid-Senior

- Location: On-Site; Aberdeen, MD 21001
- Supervisory: No
Key Roles/Duties:
- Design, develop, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and production line layouts utilizing LEAN manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Create and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes, equipment operations, and quality standards
- Analyze and optimize factory process flow to improve throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and eliminate waste
- Identify and implement automation solutions to enhance process efficiency and reduce manual tasks
- Maintain and oversee manufacturing equipment, machinery, and tools, ensuring they meet required quality and safety standards
- Develop and implement production plans that meet customer demand while minimizing downtime
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure products consistently meet defined standards
- Investigate and address defects or deviations in manufacturing processes, implementing effective corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations through risk assessments and the implementation of robust safety protocols
- Provide training and guidance to production staff regarding safe manufacturing practices and effective operation of manufacturing equipment
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA), Operations, Supply Chain, and suppliers to ensure seamless translation of product designs into practical, manufacturable solutions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Quality Assurance (QA) and cross-functional teams
- Lead technical support and troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing and production line personnel
- Support cost reduction initiatives through process improvements and waste elimination
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- +3 years of demonstrated experience in an equivalent or similar role in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management
- Demonstrated experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Demonstrated experience with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 or other industry-specify quality systems
- Demonstrated experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
- Maintain highly organized and detailed records
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as: Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) or Certified Engineering Technician (CET)
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certifications
- Experience with industrial automation, robotics, or PLC programming
- +6 years of demonstrated experience in an equivalent or similar role
- Hands-on experience with production line support and troubleshooting
- Experience with ERP system, Deltek, simulation/modeling tools, and data analysis tools
Travel:
- Minimal, local travel less than 10% of the year
Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a background check and/or security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
